System will run toy drive on board buses and deliver them in time for holiday
[Panama City, Fla.] – Representatives from Bay Town Trolley today announced the launch of a toy and game drive to collect toys for children and teens in Bay County. Community members can donate new or gently used toys onboard any Bay Town Trolley bus, and patrons who donate will receive a free ride when they give. On Monday, Dec. 19, all toys will be delivered by Santa to Anchorage Children’s Home.
“We are thrilled to be able to help make Christmas bright for those at Anchorage Children’s Home,” said Panama City Commissioner Mike Nichols, Chairman of the Bay County Transportation Planning Organization. “They meet a critical need for children and teens in our community, and these toys will hopefully lift the spirits of some kids this holiday.”
Founded in 1983 as McElvey Home, Anchorage provides care for at-risk, abused and neglected children and their families 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Their services include screening and assessment, case management, counseling, basic shelter and non-residential aftercare services.
Bay Town Trolley will accept donations on board all buses for their Polar Express bus until Friday, Dec. 16. For more information about Bay Town Trolley or their toy drive, visit BayTownTrolley.org or contact Angela Bradley at 850-785-0808.
