We spent a few hours at the Spring Festival of the Arts on Saturday. What a great day. We had the opportunity to browse many booths, from paintings to photography to pottery to hand-made jewelry. There was always music in the background. I stopped and listened for a bit to the children’s string orchestra. We didn’t have any young children with us but for those who did, there were activities available to keep the kids entertained.
Our family left the event as new owners of art pieces and with a couple of business cards for potential future purchases. We even got to spend a little time getting to know our local comic creator, Josh Hughes.
This was the 45th annual Spring Festival of the Arts event, organized by the Visual Arts Center of Northwest Florida, which also offers art exhibits and art classes for adults and children. Their summer exhibit opens June 13th and is entitled Capturing Camelot: Stanley Tretick’s Iconic Images of the Kennedys.
